Thank you all for attending the final GMM for 2017! Manila House was a beautiful, festive setting for a productive meeting. Several relevant issues were discussed, and slides have been sent out to member company representatives. Highlights include:
What's New at the operations of 3M and Emerson;
Yearend financial report, as we close 2017 with 58 member companies and a healthy cash position;
Guidance on the possibilities of a Four-day Compressed Work Week, from DOLE's Nicanor Bon; and PEZA's Work from Home proposition, from Genny Marcial of IBPAP.
#shoutouts for the meeting included:
annual membership fee statements of account (SOA) - direct deposit is the preferred payment method; please contact the secretariat for the account numbers;
a call to follow GICC Philippines on LinkedIn and to tag GICC for member company social media posts;
a #shoutout for My Dream in a Shoebox - the IBPAP and TeamAsia outreach campaign. If your company is participating, kindly email email@example.com for us to determine our combined contribution as an association;
a member #shoutout from PMI - in addition to its shared services work, the company has introduced Stanley® and Aladdin® brands to the local market;
a call for volunteers for February's What's New; and
a reminder for compliance to the Data Privacy Act - the extended deadline for compliance is on Mar. 8, 2018.
We also had a quick brainstorm for the Board's January planning session. Among the ideas that made their way via 3M's Post-Its are a GICC job fair and a more structured HR survey. As always, please email us for any ideas for the Board—suggestions are most welcome.
After the GMM, it was party time! We thank the member Santas who brought raffle prizes, the guests who joined our impromptu karaoke, and everyone who took time out to end the year with us. GICC is a business group, but the companionship, catchups, and laughter make a huge difference as we work together to move our industry forward.
See you all in February 2018!
