The new year has gotten busy right away, with a presidential veto of the Preferential Tax Rate. We understand impatience, but let us wait until the BIR issues a final, signed Revenue Regulation before taking action. We are working with IBPAP to strategize for various possibilities.
In the meantime, your GICC Board met recently for a planning session. On the agenda:
Start-of-year compliance with statutory regulations, toward fresh books and clean records for 2018.
I am in discussions with our new legal advisor, and look forward to finally making the introduction at the February General Membership Meeting. The meeting is Wednesday, February 21, 9 am at Willis Towers Watson.
We ended 2017 with 58 members, and look to expand more this year.
With membership growth comes the financial capability to fund some committee-led projects and other initiatives to benefit our members in 2018. More on that later.
We are repeating our call for ideas. If you have suggestions for industry concerns you would like addressed in 2018, please do not hesitate to email me.
I also invite you to visit the rest of this site, for an updated member directory and video and photo galleries. More than just a passive information source, please consider this site a clearinghouse for company activities, white papers and other releases you want to share.
Thank you, and see you on February 21.
